SG Wireless was a subsidiary founded by international electronics manufacturer, Season Group, in 2018. The Hong Kong-based company had forty-five years of experience in the electronics market, and started SG Wireless after seeing a gap in the emerging IoT space. Using their extensive knowledge and skills, the company began to design, develop and manufacture full-stack IoT solutions.
Rather than creating a totally new look and feel for the SG Wireless brand, we thoroughly researched and examined every aspect of Season Group and created something new and fresh, yet connected to the parent company. It was also vital that the brand represents it’s focuses:
- Internet of Things
- The global market
- …and Modern Wireless Technologies
Our first step was to create a mood board that would represent all the images, designs, colors, and illustrations we felt represented the brand and it’s focuses. Once those elements were agreed upon we moved onto creating sketches. Using good ol’ paper and pen, we drew our ideas and had numerous brainstorming sessions where we went through them and filtered down until we were all happy with the look. These sketches would then become vector images.
It was also around this time that we decided to use “Navy Blue” and “Deep Sky Blue” as the brands colours (the blue being a nod to the parent company), and use the Avenir font used for the Season Group logo.
In a relatively short space of time we created a logo, the visual identify and Branding Guideline for SG Wireless. We successfully created a brand that was linkable to Season Group, striking and identifiable and its elements work well across digital and physical branding, collateral, and packaging.
